NON Section is a limited edition font family of ten copies. Section is a type system constructed using an approximation of letterforms, each made with vertical, horizontal or diagonal dissections of triangles, circles and squares of a standard size. These sections of base shapes repeat and contrast to form a rhythm of positive and negative form. Keylines are at the heart of Section’s structure. The font family consists of varying keyline weights, in both outline and solid forms. When typeset, letterforms are both unified and separated by a repetition of equal keylines, blurring the difference between one letter and the next, but also providing a beautiful and compelling typographic minimalism.
NON is a series of limited edition type systems that utilise the basic Latin and numerical character sets to create abstract forms, rhythms and fields from otherwise ordinary text. When used effectively NON fonts establish a kind of new universal language.
The NON Section font is available to purchase at Formist Foundry.
